Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care while supporting the clinical team with a variety of dental procedures. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and patient communication will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more within a fast-paced, patient-centered practice. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards. Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic technique and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote understanding and compliance. Collaborate with the dental team on scheduling, patient intake as a dental receptionist when needed, and managing medical records efficiently. Requirements Valid registration as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or certification recognized by state regulations. Proven experience in dental assisting within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy, dental terminology, and medical coding practices. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Capable of performing chairside assisting tasks efficiently while supporting multiple procedures simultaneously.
