In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as cleanings, restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and periodontics, orthodontist, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems like Eaglesoft ensuring accuracy while maintaining patient comfort. Manage patient records accurately within electronic dental record systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and data security. Provide excellent patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards to promote safety for patients and staff. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures and terminology. Strong knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, medical imaging, X-ray procedures, and infection control practices. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR systems is highly desirable. Ability to accurately record medical documentation, medical coding, and manage medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry as well as pediatric dentistry practices when working with children. Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred; ongoing education in areas like endodontics or prosthodontics is a plus.
