Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about dental healthcare, with a focus on pediatric and general dentistry. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while adhering to all safety and privacy regulations, including HIPAA compliance. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred, along with knowledge of dental terminology, medical imaging, and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials following aseptic techniques. Take and develop X-rays and operate 3D scanners as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Ensure proper infection control procedures are followed to maintain a sterile environment. Provide patient education on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation. Support administrative tasks including dental reception duties, maintaining medical records, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures. Experience Prior experience in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous. Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry or specialized fields like endodontics or prosthodontics is desirable. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and medical imaging procedures such as X-ray operation is essential. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus. Certification in dental assisting or related training programs is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided for qualified candidates committed to professional growth in dental healthcare.
