In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a comfortable experience for every patient while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and safety. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments using aseptic techniques. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, including updating medical history and documenting treatment details. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Support infection control protocols by maintaining cleanliness, sterilization procedures, and proper disposal of contaminated materials. Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with dental reception staff to optimize patient flow. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Competence in taking X-rays and understanding radiation safety protocols. Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics settings. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
