Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant with Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) certification to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure patient comfort, and support the delivery of comprehensive dental care. Your expertise will help streamline clinic operations, maintain strict infection control standards, and enhance patient experiences in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general and pediatric dentistry while making a positive impact on patients' oral health. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control compliance Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed Manage medical documentation and records accurately within EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to support safe treatment planning in accordance with HIPAA regulations Provide patient education on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist when needed Maintain proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and understanding of anatomy relevant to dental procedures Skills Extensive experience with dental assisting in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate documentation and record-keeping Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision and safety awareness Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy related to oral health care Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures Excellent communication skills for patient education and collaboration with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards for protecting patient privacy and confidentiality Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and assist with medical documentation as needed for comprehensive patient care Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering top-quality dental services.
