In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient dental procedures across a variety of specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, implants and endodontics. Your expertise in dental assisting, medical documentation, and infection control will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their treatment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills while making a meaningful difference in patients' oral health journeys. Duties Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures with precision and professionalism, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, including X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Take high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; document treatment details accurately in compliance with medical documentation standards. Obtain vital signs and medical history from patients to support safe treatment planning, especially in pediatric dentistry and complex cases involving medical terminology. Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Assist with medical imaging procedures and understand anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures. Support patients by creating a friendly atmosphere tailored to their needs while ensuring compliance with pediatric dentistry protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, and aseptic technique with a minimum of 3 years experience. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical coding and records management is highly preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely while adhering to HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy. Strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to support medical documentation processes. Certification as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) or equivalent is required; additional certifications in radiography or pediatric dentistry are advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients about procedures in a compassionate manner.
