Position Purpose The Dental Assistant supports dentists and hygienists in delivering high-quality patient care by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during dental procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring patient comfort, maintaining accurate records, and performing chairside and administrative duties as needed. The Dental Assistant plays a key role in creating a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for patients and staff. Essential Duties Assist dentists and hygienists with patient care (prepare rooms, sterilize tools, chairside assistance, x-rays). Support patient education and comfort (oral hygiene, post-op instructions, preventive care). Maintain accurate patient records and support front desk operations as needed. Ensure infection control and compliance standards are met. Other Duties Refers patients to other healthcare staff as needed/indicated Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of community-based dental prevention activities Actively participates in staff meetings, in-service, outreach, and educational programs Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Ability to interact with diverse clients in a professional and culturally sensitive manner, and work effectively with staff and other agency professionals Proficient in dental care and dental education Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively in verbal and in written forms Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use a database Education or Formal Training / Other X-Ray Certification required. Strong teamwork, communication, and recordkeeping skills. Ability to support diverse patients in a culturally sensitive way. Valid CO driver's license, insurance, and personal vehicle required. Pre-Employment Requirements Successful completion of background check and drug screening Proof of immunizations (first two

doses, annual influenza vaccination, and other DIHFS-required immunizations) Current CPR/BLS certification Verification of required licenses/certifications Working Conditions Normal office environment working with standard office equipment (such as phone, fax, and personal computer).
