Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as an Experienced Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a smooth clinical workflow. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your passion for patient care, will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for from the moment they walk through the door. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient care and procedure efficiency. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and relaxation. Maintain a clean, sterile environment using aseptic techniques and proper infection control procedures. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing medical records accurately. Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate seamless communication within the team. Utilize advanced tools such as 3D scanners and digital X-ray equipment to enhance diagnostic capabilities in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or pediatrics. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical documentation and records management is highly preferred. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices related to dental care. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety protocols for patients and staff. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus; familiarity with pediatric-specific equipment like 3D scanners is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Certification in chairside assisting or dental assisting from an accredited program is required; additional certifications in radiography or infection control are beneficial.
