In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety standards. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical coding, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy rules. Provide patient education on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain treatment procedures using accurate dental terminology. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse when necessary to ensure patient safety during appointments. Maintain a clean, sterile environment following aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to prevent cross-contamination. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties including chairside assisting and medical documentation. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms for managing medical records efficiently. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and accurately. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk assistant are preferred for coordinating patient flow smoothly. Certification in dental assisting or relevant coursework is highly desirable; additional training in pediatric dentistry or endodontics is a plus.
