WEDNESDAYS.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and administrative coordination. As an RDA, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dental services across various specialties, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Your proficiency in medical and dental documentation, infection control, and advanced imaging technologies will ensure a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures by providing chairside support with precision and professionalism. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical histories to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry or general dentistry needs. Coordinate with the dental receptionist to facilitate appointment scheduling, insurance processing, and patient communication. Support four-handed dentistry techniques by working seamlessly alongside the dentist to enhance efficiency during procedures. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering strictly to infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines. Assist with medical documentation related to dental procedures and ensure accurate coding for billing purposes. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, with familiarity in general dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including X-ray taking, chairside support, and vital signs measurement is essential. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Dentrix, is highly desirable for efficient record management. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is necessary. Experience with advanced imaging technologies like 3D scanners or medical imaging equipment will be considered an asset. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical coding standards, and medical records management ensures compliance with healthcare laws. Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent credential is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are advantageous.
