Job Description

Job Summary Our private dental practice continues to grow! We're a thriving and fast moving office looking to hire an experienced dental assistant. Candidates with at least 3 years of full cosmetic and/or general dental assisting experience is preferred. Our business hours are M/T/TH 7-3, Wed. 7-5, •Fri. 7-1 (during our current remodeling). To learn more about our practice we encourage you to visit our website - www.distinctivedentistryonmaitland.com Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays and utilize advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices using clear dental terminology to enhance understanding. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques at all times. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Epic; experience with Eaglesoft is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality and data security. Familiarity with dental radiography including X-ray procedures and the use of 3D scanners for detailed imaging. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while supporting multiple specialties like pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics. Excellent communication skills suitable for interacting with diverse patient populations including pediatric patients. $24.00 - $28.88 per hour
