Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Although a strong understanding of dental procedures, equipment, and patient management is essential for success in this role, we are offering a unique opportunity to train on the job. Additionally, once an applicant reaches 90 days of training in our office they may be eligible to attend a dental assisting school and receive an expanded functions certificate at not cost to them. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use. Take X-rays and perform medical imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols. Utilize dental software such as Dentrix and Epic for managing patient records and scheduling appointments. Conduct patient assessments by gathering medical histories and providing education on post operative care and progressing through treatment Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes when necessary. Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Provide support in managing inventory of dental supplies and equipment. Assist with administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient clinic operations. Experience Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry is highly desirable. Basic computer skills are required. Familiarity with dental software systems such as Open Dental, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous. Experience with X-ray technology and medical imaging practices is beneficial but not required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
