The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, patient care, and clinic operations, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a professional environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists in providing comprehensive dental care, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and safety. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, rewarding setting where your expertise directly contributes to improved patient health and confidence. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures such as fillings, extractions, ,prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records by updating medical histories, documenting treatment details in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, and ensuring HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and monitoring vital signs to ensure patient comfort throughout procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene practices, and explain treatment plans using accurate dental terminology. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical documentation. Uphold infection control standards by adhering to strict sterilization protocols and maintaining a clean clinical environment aligned with OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with the team to facilitate four-handed dentistry practices that enhance efficiency and patient experience. Stay informed about advancements in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties to provide comprehensive support. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental for managing patient records and medical documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality and security of patient information. Experience operating dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures across multiple specialties including pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics. Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate billing and record-keeping. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages while providing compassionate care in a pediatric or general dentistry setting. Prior experience working within a dental clinic environment is highly desirable; familiarity with Epic or similar medical records systems is advantageous.
