Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your skills will help create a positive and efficient patient experience! In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering exceptional care by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring strict adherence to infection control protocols. Your expertise in dental procedures, medical documentation, and patient communication will contribute to a welcoming environment that promotes oral health and overall well-being. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and organized according to aseptic techniques. Take digital dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while maintaining patient safety standards. Manage medical records and documentation accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. Monitor vital signs of patients before procedures and assist with medical imaging when necessary. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency. Support the dental receptionist by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and updating medical documentation as needed. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and knowledge of anatomy to assist with complex cases involving prosthodontics or endodontics. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions clearly and compassionately. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and using dental software such as Eaglesoft. Knowledge of dental terminology, coding, and electronic health records. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. Ability to handle medical documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations. Strong understanding of dental anatomy and terminology relevant to various specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics.
