Job Description

Job Summary Become apart of a team as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), utilize your expertise to directly enhance patient care and clinical efficiency. In this vital role, you will perform advanced chairside procedures, assist with complex dental treatments, and support the delivery of comprehensive dental services. Your skills in dental assisting, charting, and infection control will ensure a safe, smooth, and positive experience for every patient. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a patient-centered environment dedicated to memorable patient care experiences. Rotating Sat and Sun 9am-9pm required. Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures including crown/bridge, endodontic procedures, digital scans and Implant placement all on 4 all on 6 and restorative cases. Perform expanded functions such as temporary restorations, cord packing and other delegated clinical tasks in accordance with state regulations and practice protocols. Capture high-quality X-ray images while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and infection control standards. Chart / document accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems Dentrix, Open Dental ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy laws. Assist with patient intake by recording vital signs, medical history, and ensuring proper medical documentation for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment for patients and staff. Collaborate effectively with dentists, hygienists, front desk staff—including dental receptionists—and other team members to deliver seamless patient care. Uphold all safety standards related to anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and infection control procedures while working in general dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics or pediatrics. Qualifications Certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) credential required; state-specific licensing if applicable. Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy clinical setting; general dentistry (Implant) experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients. Familiarity with advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and digital radiography equipment preferred.
