Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and efficiency Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly Take and develop dental X-rays, including panoramic and 3D scans, while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations Manage patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and procedure flow Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment maintenance Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining a clean clinical environment at all times Requirements Proven experience in dental assisting, preferably within an orthodontic or pediatric dentistry setting Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry practices Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in patient-facing roles are a plus Certification in dental assisting is preferred; ongoing training in medical coding or pediatrics is advantageous Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Join our team to make a positive impact on patients' smiles while advancing your career in a supportive and energetic environment!
