As a key member of our dental practice, you will support the delivery of exceptional dental services by assisting the dentist and ensuring smooth clinic operations during Saturday hours. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel cared for and confident in their treatment experience. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques. Assist the dentist during various procedures such as general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when necessary, while maintaining proper radiation safety standards. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, and documenting treatment details accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Open Dental Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort during procedures, providing chairside assistance with precision and professionalism. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist with medical documentation and records management. Uphold HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical coding with accuracy. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with familiarity in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and dental assisting procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Open Dental; experience with medical documentation and records management is highly desirable. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients preferred. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; certification in radiography is a plus. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and health information privacy regulations (HIPAA). Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other clinical staff.
