In this vital role, you will support the periodontal surgeon during complex surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation while providing exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help facilitate advanced periodontal treatments, including gum surgeries and tissue regeneration, contributing to improved oral health outcomes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative dental environment where your skills directly impact patient well-being and satisfaction. Responsibilities Assist the periodontal surgeon during surgical procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and the surgical site according to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Manage patient positioning, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to ensure safety and comfort throughout procedures Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D CBCT to obtain accurate diagnostic images for treatment planning Maintain detailed medical records, including medical coding and documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations Support four-handed dentistry by efficiently handing instruments and materials during procedures to optimize workflow Educate patients on post-operative care instructions, including medication usage and oral hygiene practices specific to periodontal treatments Ensure all dental assisting activities adhere to current dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control standards Skills Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR systems) and willing to learn new systems Strong understanding of dental terminology, general dentistry procedures, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry as they relate to periodontal care Experience with chairside assisting in a dental clinic setting, especially in periodontal or surgical environments Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical documentation best practices to protect patient privacy Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D CBCT with precision Familiarity with dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow in a busy clinic setting Excellent aseptic technique, infection control practices, and anatomy knowledge necessary for safe surgical assistance Competence in using dental software platforms for managing patient records and treatment plans Understanding of medical terminology related to oral health and systemic health conditions affecting periodontal treatment Join us in delivering exceptional periodontal care through teamwork, technical excellence, and compassionate patient service.
