Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic position, you will support dentists and hygienists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth flow of daily operations. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, surgery providing chairside support with precision and care. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners, maintaining accuracy and adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Support patient care by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology that patients can understand. Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix efficiently to document treatment details and manage appointments seamlessly. Collaborate with the dental team as part of four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and patient comfort while maintaining aseptic techniques. Skills Proficiency with Open Dental. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Experience with dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, taking X-rays (including endodontic and 3D imaging), and vital signs measurement. Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental procedures and understanding of HIPAA compliance standards. Ability to operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics and treatment planning. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages while supporting the dental receptionist in scheduling and patient flow management.
