The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthodontists. This position requires a blend of technical skills, knowledge of dental procedures, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions. Duties Assist orthodontists during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols. Manage medical records accurately, ensuring all patient information is up-to-date and compliant with regulations. Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic for scheduling appointments, documenting treatments, and managing patient information. Operate 3D scanners for imaging and assist in creating orthodontic appliances. Provide education to patients on oral hygiene practices specific to orthodontic care. Support pediatric dentistry by engaging with younger patients in a friendly and reassuring manner. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including inventory management of dental supplies. Qualifications Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred; familiarity with orthodontic procedures is a plus. Strong knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and orthodontics. Understanding of infection control standards within a clinical setting. Experience with medical coding is beneficial but not required. Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic is advantageous. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
