Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental practitioners. In this energetic and fast-paced environment, you will assist with chairside procedures, manage patient records, and ensure infection control protocols are meticulously followed. Your expertise in dental assisting, medical documentation, and dental technology will help create a smooth, efficient experience for every patient. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and confidence. Take and develop X-ray images while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety standards. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments. Provide chairside assistance with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental imaging to facilitate efficient procedures. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Maintain infection control standards in line with OSHA guidelines and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly, including 3D scanners and other advanced dental technology. Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene practices to promote long-term health benefits. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting is essential. Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Epic for medical documentation and records management is required. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology is necessary for success in this role. Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and medical coding will be considered advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy at all times. Ability to work effectively within a team while demonstrating excellent communication skills in both pediatric and general dentistry settings.
