Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and materials for various dental procedures. Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by handing instruments, managing suction, and ensuring patient comfort. Take dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records, dental terminology, and coding in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment for all procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions about procedures or dental terminology. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, present treatment plans and updating medical documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental environment with knowledge of general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation. Certification or training in X-ray techniques and infection control practices. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques necessary for chairside assisting. Ability to perform vital signs measurements. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure confidentiality of medical records and documentation.
