Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! Your expertise in dental procedures, patient care, and medical documentation will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared efficiently. Perform chairside assisting with precision, including taking X-rays, operating dental imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, and applying aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards. Manage patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and data security. Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures using clear dental terminology, and addressing patient questions to foster a positive experience. Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, update medical records, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes. Maintain a sterile environment through strict infection control protocols and proper sterilization of instruments. Assist with medical documentation related to dental procedures and ensure accurate recording of medical history and records for each patient. Qualifications Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including X-ray operation, chairside assisting, and knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry. Familiarity with Open Dental is essential for managing patient records efficiently. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices to ensure patient privacy and safety. Knowledge of dental terminology enhances communication within the team. Ability to perform vital signs measurement and operate medical imaging equipment confidently. Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive attitude to support both patients and team members effectively. $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
