Dental Assistant

The Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) plays a critical role in supporting a solo dentist by assisting primarily with restorative dental procedures and Dentures/Partials. This position requires delivering high-quality patient care, managing infection control, operating radiographic equipment, and maintaining meticulous records. The EFDA works under direct supervision on-site, contributing to a smooth and efficient dental practice through strong teamwork and precise coordination of appointments using dental practice management software and electronic health records. Responsibilities Assist the dentist with restorative dental procedures Provide exceptional patient care and support Perform dental radiography and process images Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure infection control Accurately prepare and handle dental materials Keep detailed patient records using electronic health records Maintain and troubleshoot dental equipment Coordinate patient appointments and workflow Work collaboratively with the solo dentist to optimize patient outcomes Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of dental assisting experience Completion of an expanded functions dental assistant training program Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification Proficiency in dental radiography and infection control techniques Strong skills in patient communication and dental materials handling Expertise in sterilization techniques and charting Excellent time management and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing demands

Pay:

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
