Job Summary Join our Pediatric dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinical activities. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including prophys, sealants, fluoride applications, digital x-rays, restorations, extractions, impressions, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for each patient. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining strict infection control protocols. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile environment through aseptic techniques. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary to support overall patient health assessments. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records efficiently. Skills Proficiency with dental software Open Dental is essential for managing patient information seamlessly. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques ensures safe and effective patient care. Experience with medical coding and documentation related to dental procedures enhances accuracy in record-keeping. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and the ability to work effectively with children is highly desirable. Competence in taking X-rays and operating advanced imaging equipment. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient support across all age groups. Understanding of HIPAA regulations guarantees confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times.
