Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This energetic position combines clinical support with front desk responsibilities, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a positive patient experience. You will be the friendly face welcoming patients, managing appointments, and supporting the dental team with essential administrative and clinical tasks. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and assist with patient intake procedures Schedule and confirm appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, handling inquiries and appointment requests efficiently Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist the dentist during procedures with dental terminology knowledge and clinical support Perform administrative duties including filing medical records, updating patient information Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing workflows Handle medical billing and coding tasks Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and ensuring confidentiality at all times Support office management activities including medical scheduling, filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records Cleaning the Office at the end Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10) Strong computer skills including familiarity with practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Meditech, and Microsoft Office applications Knowledge of insurance verification processes, medical billing, coding procedures, and Medicare guidelines Excellent patient service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Clinic experience in a healthcare setting involving front desk duties, intake procedures, or office management is desirable Ensure the office is cleaned and reset before closing Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to providing outstanding dental care while fostering a supportive work environment.
