Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Part-Time Dental Assistant and be a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! As a key member of our team, you'll support dentists across various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. This position is ideal for motivated individuals seeking flexible hours and the chance to grow their dental career. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, and root canals, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring an aseptic environment in compliance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality. Support patients by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing their concerns with professionalism and empathy. Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures accurately for insurance claims and medical records management. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing patient flow efficiently. Skills Proficiency with dental software platforms including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic for scheduling, documentation, and billing processes. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment. Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools confidently. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles to provide gentle care tailored for children. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide clear instructions to patients. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for safeguarding medical records and documentation.
