Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology like 3D scanners while maintaining strict infection control protocols. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology efficiently and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary, especially in pediatric or medically complex cases. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer their questions confidently to foster trust and comfort. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry procedures and experience caring for pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team including receptionists and hygienists. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical terminology preferred; ongoing education in endodontics or prosthodontics is advantageous. $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
