In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside support during complex root canal treatments and other endodontic procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at every step. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your knowledge of endodontic techniques and infection control protocols, will help us deliver top-tier dental care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills within a fast-paced, patient-centered environment dedicated to excellence in general and specialized dentistry. Duties Assist the dentist during endodontic procedures, including root canals, pulp therapy, and retreatments, using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate instruments, materials, and dental supplies such as X-ray equipment and 3D scanners for precise diagnostics Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to document patient information accurately and efficiently Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing reassurance and support as needed Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting surfaces, and following OSHA guidelines for safety and hygiene Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, managing medical documentation, and updating medical coding records for insurance purposes Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and the importance of routine check-ups to promote oral health awareness Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for seamless documentation and record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and endodontic procedures to assist effectively during treatments Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately and safely Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols to ensure patient safety Excellent communication skills suitable for working alongside a team of dental professionals including dental receptionists and hygienists Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality and data security Ability to perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient well-being throughout procedures Understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics for accurate documentation and patient education Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
