Based on experience (1099-Contractor) Academy for Dental Assistants is a small, privately owned dental assistant training school that is approved by the Florida Board of Dentistry. We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Dental Assistant to join our team as an Instructor and help guide aspiring dental assistants toward successful careers in the field!

Position Overview:

The Dental Assistant Instructor will be responsible for providing comprehensive instruction to students in our dental assistant training program. This role involves preparing and delivering engaging lessons, ensuring students receive hands-on experience, maintaining a positive and professional learning environment, and completing instructor paperwork. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of general dental assisting procedures, a passion for teaching and/or wanting to educate people in the dental field, and a commitment to supporting students as they develop essential skills for the dental industry. The position is 1099 Contract work, we offer classes on Mondays, Thursday and Saturdays. Classes are from 8:30am-4:00pm. Instructor hours are 7:30 am- 5pm. Our classes are a blended/ hybrid format for students to attend class 1 day per week for clinical hands-on training. Classes are held every 12 weeks wiith a 4-6 week gap in between. Responsibilities Classroom/Student management Instruct and Educate Students on General Dental Procedures Curriculum Improvement Supervise Clinical Practice Evaluate and Assess Students Maintain a Positive and Effective Learning Classroom Environment Administrative and Program Support Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles. Qualifications Must have Expanded Functions & Dental Radiology Certifications. Preferred minimum of 3-5 years of dental assisting experience in a general dental office. Strong background in Dental Assisting. Previous teaching, mentoring, or training experience is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of dental procedures, techniques, and office protocols. Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with dental assisting practices and teaching methods. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with students and colleagues.
