Orthodontic Assistant

We are seeking an upbeat Orthodontic Assistant (no experience or experienced) to join our private practice team! You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our orthodontic practice. You'll enjoy treating the kids who love coming here and the snowbirds who call Sarasota home in the winter months! We offer a 5% salary contribution to your 401K on top of your wages. It is very important to us that our team is taken care of and preparing for the future! Responsibilities Prepare teeth for placement of brackets, Invisalign attachments, and bands Adjust and prepare orthodontic wires and clear aligners Sterilize instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready and available. Take x-rays (panoramic and lateral cephs) Educate patients on oral hygiene and care for braces and Invisalign. Take patient records, including notes and photos Take scans for Invisalign or retainers using an intraoral scanner (iTero) Communicate with patients and parents to make them feel welcome Assist with ordering additional supplies/inventory Fabricate essix retainers and 3D print dental models Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Help with appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed. Qualifications:

Orthodontic assisting experience is not required but preferred (we will train you if you are a good fit!) Familiarity with patient management software such as Dolphin is preferred but not necessary Ability to take notes efficiently using a laptop Great customer service, high energy with an engaging personality! Proactive mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to help others on the team Support office community and sponsorship events outside of the office Have fun!
