Dental Assistant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, performing basic dental tasks, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and materials
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Prepare and maintain dental materials, such as composite fillings and impression materials
• Provide post-operative instructions to patients
• Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring models and trimming plaster casts
• Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems (Eaglesoft)
• Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
• Current certification in dental assisting preferred
• Proficiency in medical documentation and record keeping
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
• Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and equipment
• Ability to take accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of CAD software for digital impressions is a plus
