The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting orthodontists in delivering high-quality treatments. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances. Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of maintaining their orthodontic appliances. Take impressions and utilize 3D scanners for creating models of patients' teeth. Maintain accurate medical records and update patient charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff. Collaborate with the dental team to provide support in general dentistry tasks as needed. Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow within the office. Requirements Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Proficiency in using dental software. Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant or in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages. Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
