In this energetic role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will help us maintain the highest standards of patient care. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and materials for various dental procedures. Assist dentists during examinations and treatments, including chairside support and four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper safety protocols and image quality for diagnosis. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on oral health, post-treatment care, and preventive practices. Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Support administrative tasks like scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation and records. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with medical imaging or 3D scanning procedures for comprehensive diagnostics. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Hands-on experience with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting and record management. Skilled in taking X-rays, including intraoral and extraoral images, with understanding of radiation safety protocols. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and providing compassionate care to pediatric patients is highly desirable. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of infection control and aseptic technique.
