Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to providing high-quality dental care in a friendly and supportive environment. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining an organized and sterile work area. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor and record vital signs of patients prior to treatment. Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Requirements Previous experience in pediatric dentistry is mandatory. Knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, and pediatric dentistry practices is essential. Familiarity with Dentrix software for patient management is advantageous. Strong understanding of infection control procedures in a dental setting. Ability to perform medical imaging tasks accurately and safely. Excellent communication skills, particularly when interacting with children and their families. A compassionate demeanor with the ability to create a positive experience for young patients.
