Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will help deliver comprehensive dental services, support clinical operations, and enhance patient experiences. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about promoting oral health and wellness. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Manage medical documentation by accurately recording patient information, medical history, vital signs, and treatment details using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Open Dental (preferred), Dentrix, and Eaglesoft. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and aseptic procedures. Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
