Company Overview Good Samaritan Health and Wellness Center is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) primary care clinic dedicated to serving the diverse population of Pickens County and surrounding areas. We provide comprehensive healthcare services, including primary care, dental, behavioral health, vision, labs, x-rays, ultrasound, and referral services, with a commitment to accessible and quality care for all. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves supporting dental practitioners in providing efficient and comfortable dental treatments while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready. Perform chairside assisting using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures such as restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging procedures when necessary to support comprehensive patient assessments. Maintain infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, managing inventory of supplies, and adhering to OSHA standards for safety in the dental clinic. Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures by providing specialized support tailored to children's needs while fostering a welcoming environment for young patients. Skills Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient information efficiently. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics. Experience with general dentistry procedures as well as pediatric dentistry practices. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices accurately. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations governing medical records confidentiality and data security. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with the healthcare team.
