Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in various dental systems. Duties Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols. Break down, clean and set up rooms Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using medical imaging technology. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical coding and documentation of treatments performed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize office operations, including experience with Curve Dental or similar systems. Assist with prosthodontics procedures as needed, ensuring high-quality patient care. Utilize 3D scanners for impressions and other diagnostic purposes. Assist the dentist if needed during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred; familiarity with general dentistry practices is essential. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding, and experience as a dental receptionist are advantageous. Proficiency in operating dental equipment and systems, including Dentrix, is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are crucial for maintaining patient records and managing appointments. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.
