In this energetic role, you will support dentists during patient procedures, ensure smooth clinic operations, and provide compassionate care to patients of all ages. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for patient care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection control standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and monitoring patient comfort throughout procedures. Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall dental health. Requirements Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or prosthodontics. Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential for managing medical records and documentation efficiently. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and communicate effectively within the team. Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures and 3D scanner technology to support comprehensive diagnostics. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Excellent communication skills as a Dental Receptionist or front desk assistant are beneficial for coordinating appointments and assisting patients.
