in delivering high-quality pediatric dental care while helping young patients feel safe, calm, and confident during their visits. You will assist with preventive, restorative, and specialized pediatric procedures, maintain efficient clinic operations, and contribute to a fun, welcoming environment designed for children of all ages. Duties Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures including preventive care, restorative treatments, sealants, stainless steel crowns, extractions, space maintainers, and emergency care while ensuring patient comfort and efficient workflow. Help create a child-friendly, positive atmosphere by using age-appropriate communication and behavior guidance techniques to ease anxiety and build trust with young patients. Prepare and disinfect treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain equipment according to OSHA and infection control standards. Take and process dental X-rays, including panoramic and 3D imaging, while following radiation safety protocols for pediatric patients. Record patient medical histories, vital signs, treatment notes, and charting accurately using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Educate children and parents on oral hygiene, preventive care, post-operative instructions, and healthy dental habits. Assist with patient flow, scheduling coordination, and maintaining a smooth and organized clinical environment. Support sedation or special needs appointments as needed while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. Maintain aseptic techniques and HIPAA compliance to ensure the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality. Skills Knowledge of pediatric dental assisting techniques, chairside assisting, radiography, sterilization, and patient care. Strong understanding of pediatric dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and HIPAA regulations. Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with children, parents, and team members in a fast-paced clinical setting. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar dental software preferred. Skilled in operating dental equipment including digital X-ray systems and intraoral scanners. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and working with children of varying ages and developmental needs. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask efficiently. CPR certification and pediatric dental assisting experience are preferred. Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children achieve healthy smiles. $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
