In this vital role, you will assist the dentist and dental hygienist during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to positive patient experiences and uphold the highest standards of infection control and safety. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting dedicated to improving oral health. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing necessary instruments and materials promptly. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical coding, and ensuring accurate data entry within EMR systems like Eaglesoft. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing questions with professionalism and empathy. Support the dental staff by scheduling appointments and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain infection control protocols through proper sterilization, handling of medical records, and adherence to OSHA standards to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques enhances your ability to support clinical operations effectively. Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous for managing electronic health records seamlessly. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance ensures confidentiality and security of patient information at all times. Certification or training in X-ray technology, infection control practices, or pediatric dentistry is a plus. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with aseptic techniques supports safe clinical procedures. Experience with dental assisting in specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics will help you adapt quickly to diverse patient needs.
