Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient records, medical history, and vital signs. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and documentation. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Manage appointment scheduling, including coordinating with the dental receptionist for optimal patient flow. Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures with a focus on creating a comfortable experience for younger patients. Conduct preliminary assessments including taking medical histories and vital signs as needed. Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques to enhance patient care. Experience Candidates should possess experience in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in: General dentistry practices along with specialized areas such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Proficient use of 3D scanners and medical imaging technologies. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance in all aspects of care. Familiarity with medical coding and documentation processes is advantageous.
