As an integral part of our practice, you will assist dentists during procedures, ensure infection control protocols are meticulously followed, and provide vital support to create a comfortable experience for every patient. Your role will involve utilizing advanced dental technology and maintaining accurate medical records, all while fostering a positive and energetic atmosphere that promotes health and wellness. This paid position offers you the opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative setting dedicated to excellence in dental care. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures, adhering to OSHA guidelines. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when necessary, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow efficiently. Assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance claims using Epic or similar systems to ensure timely reimbursements. Collaborate seamlessly with the team using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including HIPAA and OSHA standards while maintaining a welcoming environment for pediatric patients. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure in the applicable state or region. Proven experience in general dentistry with a strong background in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices accurately. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, documentation, and appointment scheduling efficiently. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
