Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Our clinic is located within a busy general dentist practice, You will have all the benefits of a full dental team experience. Essential Job Duties Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and confidence Take and develop dental X-rays, including panoramic and cephalometric images, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety protocols are followed Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) with Dentrix ensuring accurate documentation of treatment plans and progress Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about orthodontic appliances, and assisting with patient comfort measures. Communication with patients and staff. Updating medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by sterilizing instruments, managing inventory of supplies, and adhering to infection control standards Experience Previous experience in dental assisting with a focus on orthodontics is highly preferred; EFDA is required. Proficiency in EMR systems (Dentrix) for managing medical records and documentation is recommended, but will train. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to orthodontics and general dentistry. Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, medical imaging techniques, and dental radiography safety protocols Understanding of infection control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures in a dental clinic setting Ability to work as a team member Strong communication skills. $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
