Job Description

Job Summary We're looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll support the dentist during procedures, help care for patients, and keep daily operations running smoothly. You should be familiar with dental terms, infection control, and dental software. This position is key to providing high-quality care in a friendly, professional setting. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take dental X-rays while adhering to proper safety and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using EMR system, Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs measurements and document medical history for new and returning patients. Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting with billing or coding as needed. Operate 3D scanners or other advanced imaging equipment to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning when required. Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow using four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient comfort. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and clinical protocols preferred Familiarity with EMR system Eaglesoft is preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental X-ray machines safely and effectively; certification in radiography is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical imaging, medical documentation, and medical coding would be helpful. Experience working in general dentistry with exposure to specialties like prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatrics is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
