Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with experience in general dentistry. This role involves providing chairside support to the dentist, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for managing dental records and assisting with various procedures. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Take and process dental X-rays, as well as perform medical imaging when necessary. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Open Dental, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care. Monitor vital signs and assist in managing patient comfort during treatments. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry practices. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when required in treatment planning. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficient in using EMR systems, particularly Open Dental Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data protection. Strong understanding of dental terminology, and infection control standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and team members. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training preferred; must be willing to pursue additional certifications if necessary.
