Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including pediatric dentistry and orthodontics ensuring all tools and materials are prepared efficiently. Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to infection control and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support administrative tasks by acting as a dental receptionist—scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and managing medical documentation. Implement infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment, including sterilizing instruments and maintaining proper disposal procedures. Assist with medical imaging procedures using advanced equipment like 3D scanners and ensure proper positioning for optimal results. Provide compassionate care to pediatric patients by applying specialized techniques suited for children's needs and ensuring their comfort throughout treatment. Requirements Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques such as chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and applying aseptic technique is essential. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology is required to communicate effectively with the team and patients. Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards; certification in radiography is desirable. Strong understanding of infection control practices and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety at all times. Excellent communication skills combined with a friendly demeanor will help foster positive patient experiences across diverse age groups including pediatrics.
