Full Job Description Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team (
Part-Time:
Mondays and Tuesdays). The Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our dentists during patient procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile and organized clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Certification and prior experience are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support:
Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures. Prepare and arrange dental instruments and materials for patient treatments. Ensure all instruments are properly sterilized and ready for use.
Patient Care:
Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring they are comfortable and informed. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse. Provide patients with oral care instructions post-treatment and educate them on general oral health practices.
Radiography:
Take and develop dental X-rays as prescribed by the dentist. Ensure X-rays are properly stored and documented in patient records.
Record Keeping:
Accurately record patient medical and dental histories and treatment information. Maintain and update patient charts with current information.
Infection Control:
Follow infection control protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the sterilization area and dental operatory.
Supply Management:
Monitor and manage dental supplies inventory. Order supplies and materials as needed to ensure uninterrupted clinic operations.
Administrative Tasks:
Assist with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and handling patient billing. Ensure patient records are accurately filed and maintained.
Laboratory Duties:
Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models, making temporary crowns, and polishing dental appliances. Communicate with dental labs regarding patient cases.
Patient Follow-Up:
Schedule follow-up appointments and ensure patients receive timely care. Follow up with patients regarding treatment progress and address any post-treatment concerns
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a dental office or healthcare setting is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
