Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Monitor vital signs and medical history to support safe treatment planning for patients with diverse needs. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control standards and ensuring all tools meet sterilization requirements. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting with proficiency in dental assisting techniques. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with team members and patients. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and medical imaging technology. Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to uphold safety standards. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry is highly desirable; comfort working with children is essential. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is preferred; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance and medical coding is advantageous.
