In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering top-tier dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition following infection control protocols. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthetic placements with precision and care. Take and develop X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, ensuring accurate medical documentation and records are maintained in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Monitor vital signs of patients before procedures and assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Apply aseptic techniques consistently to uphold the highest standards of infection control within the clinic environment. Support pediatric dentistry by creating a friendly atmosphere for young patients, explaining procedures using appropriate dental terminology, and assisting with pediatric-specific treatments. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, along with familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and dental radiography including X-ray safety protocols. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently across multiple specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management. Certification in X-ray technology and CPR is preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or medical coding are advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team of dental professionals such as dental receptionists and hygienists.
